We have conducted some of the largest public opinion surveys in Afghanistan over one and a half decade, and trained hundreds of multi-ethnic Afghan men and women on standard research techniques and methods, both in-country and overseas. Collecting reliable qualitative and quantitative data throughout Afghanistan is what we do best, and by doing so we inspire our clients around the word to invest in Afghanistan.

We follow the universal standards for conducting surveys. If in some cases our procedures do not cover or are not applicable, we will make sure we cover your needs by expanding on our principles and procedures. Our research specialists have more than 5 years experience each in questionnaire design, field management, monitoring and controlling the field work, data entry and analysis to help you make better strategic decisions.

ORCA provides a full range of quantitative and qualitative research services. We have expertise in ad-hoc and continuous research in Afghanistan.

ORCA dedicates its full team to the smooth and successful implementation of your project. Team members personally are in contact with you from the first research brief till the final delivery. We achieve this through a combined team of national and international research specialists in Afghanistan. Moreover, we work with our clients to define requirements and clarify expectations prior to starting the project, including cost and time constraints. We ensure that our services comply with requirements and meet or exceed client expectations .

Field Quality Control

ORCA ensure the best quality of data gathering through the many checks and extensive monitoring that takes place throughout the process of research. We also strive for excellence in analytical methods using the most up to date tools in research analysis and innovative techniques suitable for the Afghan context. Whether the data is in quantitative or qualitative formats, ORCA will ensure that you get the highest standards. Our research goes through a process of multiple checks with parallel control group testing where needed/possible. However quality control does not end there, we take it to the next level and maintain high levels of processing to correct any errors as soon as possible in the process and finalize the report with multiple checks.

ORCA heavily invests in strong and effective state-of-the-art Monitoring and Control measures through a network of over 500 experienced, multi-ethnic and gender-balanced monitoring agents managed by 34 Provincial Monitoring and Control Supervisors covering every province of Afghanistan.

Data Management Quality Control

In our in-house data entry facility, we’ve set up a pool of up to 50 data entry operators who receive training on every particular questionnaire and the data entry software program.

We develop particular computer software that fully complies with the logic, flow and entries of your project and is convertible into SPSS, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word thus it will not only ease the data entry but will also speed it up with utmost accuracy. It limits entries into all variables and gives warnings if entries are punched wrong or not logical. We can enter up to 2000 average questionnaires into the computer in one day.
